Codes and Standards

IBEW Local 98 is dedicated to promoting safety in the workplace through our active involvement the development of Codes and Standards. This portion of our website is dedicated to the memory of our dear brother Bill Wusinich.

IBEW Local 98 is proud to have two members serving on NFPA committees revising and developing the codes and standards that impact our industry.

Brian Myers, Instructor for IBEW Local 98 presently serves as an alternate member of CMP-17 for NFPA 70, the National Electrical Code. CMP-17 has purview over Articles 422, 424, 426, 427, 680 and 682.

James T. Dollard Jr., Coordinator of Safety/Journeyman Training for Local 98 presently serves as a principal on CMP-10 and as an alternate on CMP-13 for NFPA 70, the National Electrical Code. CMP-10 has purview over Article 240 and CMP-13 has purview over 445, 455, 480, 695, 700, 701, 702 and 708. Jim is the past Chairman of CMP-10 for the 2002, 2005, 2008 cycles and a past member of CMP-15. Jim is an alternate member of the NEC Technical Correlating Committee. Jim also represents the IBEW on the Underwriters Laboratories Electrical Council, as a principal member of NFPA 90, the Standard for the Installation of Air-Conditioning and Ventilating Systems and as an alternate on NFPA 70E, the Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
